Gail D. Dunn,
Coordinator, Project Oasis Winter Program. Gail was born and raised in
Montclair, NJ. Upon graduating from Montclair High School, she attended
Essex County College and received an Associate Degree in Social Science. She
continued her education and received a BA in Psychology from Montclair State
University. Ms. Dunn has always had a commitment to improve the lives of
others, particularly the youth. In 1993 her passion led her to start “Kiya’s
House of Love” and in the spring of 1995 founded “Fresh Start for
Excellence” a community based organization that held recreational activities
and cultural events for the neighborhood youth. She has worked as a
Community Police Officer for the Township of Montclair, as Director of the
Hillside and Valley Child Development Center in Orange, NJ; assisted and
advocated for people with drug addictions and HIV infected children. She
volunteers yearly with Montclair’s Million Man Organization, is a board
member with the Sister-to-Sister program, and has received numerous
volunteer awards and recognition for the work she has done to improve the
lives of our youth. Ms. Dunn is employed by the Statewide Parent Advocacy
Network (SPAN) as its Community Education Project Coordinator. She resides
in Montclair and has a seventeen-year-old son.
Cheryl Yvonne
Jones – 11 years teaching dramatic arts and speech at Houston academy
East Orange, NJ. Currently teaching gifted and talented students at Houston
Academy. Raising students standards of excellence making sure “At Risk”
children get the attention they need. Teacher/Tutor at MNDC Project Oasis
for language arts, science, social studies, remedial math. Bachelor of Fine
Arts (BFA) Carnegie Mellon University-1976. N Jersey Alternative Route
Program – Teaching Certificate for Drama & Speech Communication & Standard
K-8. One son currently attending Phillips Dexter Academy.
Kelly Richardson
– I was born and raised in Montclair, so the Montclair Neighborhood
Development Corporation means a lot to me. I have utilized he services that
the MNDC have to offer, like the Summer Trips, Computer Classes, Holiday
help and other programs. My daughter, a freshman at Spelman College, has
also been involved in some of the programs that the MNDC offers. Summer
project Oasis and then she became a staff member. This is the third year
that I have been able to give back some of what the MNDC has given to me and
my family. I have also worked for 2 years with the Adult School. When the
opportunity arose I was more than happy to work with the MNDC staff.

PhD – Dr. Amadi is the director of Clark School in East Orange, NJ. He
teaches GED Mathematic at MNDC, instilling a philosophy of Dedication and
Excellence.

Allison
E. Morton – My name Is Allison E. Morton. I was born and raised in the
Montclair district. I attend Glenfield from kindergarten to sixth grade.
Integration started in the late sixties. I was then bused to Mt. Hebron for
seventh and eighth grade. Attended MHS, was a MHS dancer. Later received her
Bachelor of Science from Bloomfield College. After leaving the professional
world, I entered the Alternate Rout program, becoming a teacher of the
Handicap. After going back to school to become certified. I have been
teaching at Glenfield for the past 8 years. I am part of the Project Oasis
Summer Enrichment Program. Being involved in the Summer Project Oasis and
the After School Program, where I ran the STARS Program at the St. Peter
Claver site. I am part of the community – involved in the community
academically, professionally, spiritually, and social, I luv this town!
Qaiser
J. Rana – Mr. Rana has served as a part-time science instructor with
MNDC. He is a full time science instructor at Essex County Vocational and
Technical Schools. Mr. Rana earned his M.S. in Geology from Punjab
University in Lahore, Pakistan. He has taken several graduate courses in
education and science from various institutions like St. Peter’s College and
Montclair State University. Mr. Rana holds a physical science teacher
certificate issued by New Jersey Department of Education. Mr. Rana has been
serving New Jersey public schools since 1990.
Douglas H. Moore
is a Montclair High School graduate and received a B.A. in Political Science
from Clark Atlanta University, and has completed 20 graduate hours towards
an M.A. in Teaching, College of New Jersey. He teaches Social Studies, first in Newark
East Side School and now at Montclair High School. Courses include: World
History, U.S. History I and II; African American Studies. He is Football
Coach at Montclair High School and Video Game Club Advisor. He has been
recognized: Gerladine R. Dodge Foundation Fellow (1992), Going The Extra
Mile Award; Montclair NAACP (2002), Who’s Who Among American High School
Teachers (2001 through 2005), Golden Helmet Award (Most Valuable
Player/Football, Clark Atlanta University) (1987). In addition to his work
with Project Oasis as After School Tutorial and Homework Center Facilitator,
he is a Counselor and Employment Facilitator for Montclair Grass Roots.
Kevin
Richberg – Kevin Richberg was born in Montclair, NJ on December 4, 1965.
He grew up in Montclair and attended Montclair Public Schools. As a young
man, Kevin was very involved in athletics and played both football and
baseball at Montclair High. After graduating from Montclair High, Kevin
attended Howard University where he received a Bachelor of Business
Administration in 1989. Thereafter, he worked for the General Electric
Company for 3 years. After leaving General Electric, he enrolled at Georgia
State University where he received a Masters Degree in Marketing. Finishing
graduate school in 1993, Kevin went on to work in the sports marketing
industry for a number of years. Recently, he decided to go back to his roots
and become a teacher at Montclair High School. He currently teaches a
Personal Finance Course. He is also an assistant football coach at the
school. Kevin is married and has a 2 year old daughter. He is a Deacon at
his church, ST. Paul Baptist Church in Montclair, and is involved in a
number of other ministries. Kevin has always been an active member of the
community and plans to continue working with young people in Montclair.
