Winter Oasis is a community focused youth education partnership among Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation, the Montclair Board of Education, the Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) of Montclair High School and the TEAM (Technology Education Access Mentoring) project of the United Way of North Essex. In classes held four days a week students focus on academic work, including Reading, Math, General and World Literature, Science, History and Global Studies. Internet based YLA modules emphasize life skills and character development. The schools refer students to the program and referring teachers provide directions on remedial needs of each participant. |
