Finesia Walker, Coordinator, MNDC Adult School. "My mission is to serve the educational needs of our diverse community. Be it big or small we aim to achieve our highest goals. No adult should want an education and not be able to get it. We promise to provide the best quality education to all of our students." Mrs. Walker graduated from Montclair High School in 1968. She attended Winston-Salem State College in Winston Salem, NC from 1968-1969 and graduated from Bloomfield College in 1977 with a B.A. in Social Studies. She holds a New Jersey state certification in Social Studies grades K-12 and New Jersey State certification in Physical Education and Health. She has been a history teacher at the Essex County Vocational Technical High Schools since 1991. She is a resident of Montclair since 1960, is the mother of 3 children, James Smith, Karana Smith-Dare, and David Smith, and has been the coordinator of MNDC Adult School since 1991.

Terrilisa Durham Bauknight – teach at Essex County Vocational and Technical high School – N. 13th Street campus, Assist Pastor (formerly a Sr. Pastor with AME Church – on sabbatical) at Centenary United Methodist Church in Metuchen, NJ. Current resident of New Jersey (looking to return to Pennsylvania, some day) Mrs. Bauknight has a dual Bachelors in Sociology and Pre-Ministerial Religion, Masters in Psychotherapy and Divinity. She is a fully ordained Elder within the denomination and working towards a Masters in Education and Doctorate of Divinity Educational/Teacher Training through Kean and Rutgers New Brunswick – University of New Jersey Certified in Special Education and High School Social Studies. She is currently waiting for her final English evaluation. Mrs. Bauknight is working towards her Masters in Education and Doctorate of Divinity. On a personal note, she enjoys dancing, cooking, sewing, writing poetry, drag racing, snowball fights, popcorn, and a good movie.

Michael Garry – Michael Garry earned a Bachelor of Arts in History at William Paterson College, where he provided tutorial and supplemental instruction to undergraduate students. Subsequently, he completed a Master’s Degree in History at Rutgers University. Currently he teaches US History I and II at Bloomfield Tech.

 

Sara A. Airall – hands on instruction in the following courses:
Computer Literacy in IBM PC/XT and XEROX 850 Word Processing, Corel Word Perfect Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook Express.
Mrs. Airall has years of experience in the field of Secretarial Studies. She has been a member of the Essex County Board since 1999 and is still currently active in the board. Working for the Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation from 1987 to present. Reason for involvement is the ability to give back to the community. The expertise to assist the resident of the community in gaining confidence, computer skills, and a sense of self-worth, which leads to a more productive life style. There is a most rewarding feeling in helping to contribute to the fabric of the community in a positive manner.

Kelly Richardson – I was born and raised in Montclair, so the Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation means a lot to me. I have utilized he services that the MNDC have to offer, like the Summer Trips, Computer Classes, Holiday help and other programs. My daughter, a freshman at Spelman College, has also been involved in some of the programs that the MNDC offers. Summer project Oasis and then she became a staff member. This is the third year that I have been able to give back some of what the MNDC has given to me and my family. I have also worked for 2 years with the Adult School. When the opportunity arose I was more than happy to work with the MNDC staff.

Ndubisi, S Amadi, PhD – Dr. Amadi is the director of Clark School in East Orange, NJ. He teaches GED Mathematic at MNDC, instilling a philosophy of Dedication and Excellence.

Reuben M. Waithaka – Born February 18, 1971.  Mr. Waithaka has a M.D. in Statistics graduated in May 2004, and also a B.A. in Mathematic and Geography. He is currently Adjunct Facility of Mathematics at Kean University. He also has taught at Bloomfield college for at least one year.

 

Qaiser J. Rana – Mr. Rana has served as a part-time science instructor with MNDC. He is a full time science instructor at Essex County Vocational and Technical Schools. Mr. Rana earned his M.S. in Geology from Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. He has taken several graduate courses in education and science from various institutions like St. Peter’s College and Montclair State University. Mr. Rana holds a physical science teacher certificate issued by New Jersey Department of Education. Mr. Rana has been serving New Jersey public schools since 1990.
